The amount of real tooth tissue to be removed by casting porcelain teeth is more than that of porcelain fused to metal crown, otherwise the porcelain layer is too thin and easy to break. The strength of cast porcelain teeth is not as high as that of porcelain fused to metal teeth. It is generally only used for the restoration of single crown, inlay, high inlay and veneer of anterior teeth, but not for the restoration of posterior teeth.
